About us
The FREdome Visionary Trust CIC is a publicly inaugurated community group, with an elected management committee and approved constitution.
The mission of the Trust is make a better world for our children to inherit, by connecting the goodwill, ingenuity and good sense of caring people at grass-roots to what happens in society.
The aim of our flagship Operation OASIS project is to communicate the benefits of Carbon Cycling – put simply, encouraging the planting of forests to improve soil and absorb excess atmospheric carbon.
Our vision is a world providing enough food, fuel, safe materials, employment for everyone to enjoy.
Our people
Founder: Greg Peachey BSc
Greg’s biography:
A former management consultant, Greg founded the FREdome Visionary Trust in 2005 with a view to effect change starting at a local level in his home county of Hertfordshire - leading and inspiring global change.
Greg says, “My earnest hope is that renewable use of carbon is recognised as a plausible option for harnessing emissions. If it can be seen that moving this option forward is supported at a high level, I believe the immediate result will be wide-spread optimism for ourselves and future generations.”
Operation Oasis director: Andrew K Fletcher
A former sewage engineer, Andrew is the originator of the Carbon Cycling solution Operation OASIS.
Andrew says,
“Politicians can and have done a great deal of good work, so let us hope that a concerted assault on the world’s impoverished soils will transform them into fertile productive lands – the greatest battle on Earth has already begun.” See Andrew’s website: www.operationoasis.com
Our volunteers
Our volunteers participate in presentations to business groups, meetings with potential partners, funders and stakeholders and attendance at community events. We encourage participation in social media and learning about democracy; researching national and international environmental schemes and forming bid writing teams.
We use free online working platforms such boxnet, Google Docs; gmail; online forums; Doodle and Skype for collaborative working on bids with participants in UK and abroad.
We do not coach people to perform and we do not preach about global warming. We give volunteers freedom to express their ideas in ways that are relevant to their peers.
We have worked in partnership with the Executive Forum Alumni to recruit unemployed executives as Carbon Cycling volunteers. We welcome offers of support from people with any professional skills including administration, database management, finance, marketing, pr, project management, fundraising and law.
FREdome also has a database of around 1000 supporters who receive enews updates.
Youth Volunteers
