C-Green Solutions greenhouse project

Our first Local to Global project is the  C-Green Solutions Carbon Cycling project in Watford, Hertfordshire, UK.

Through the FREdome workshop and website model of community idea generation and ratification, C-Green Solutions was selected by the youth of Watford as the project most worthy of support by the Trust.

C-Green Solutions is a scientific project focusing on the culturing of marine microalgae using hydroponics.

Local objectives

  • Food production: to successfully grow usable crops hydroponically using sea water
  • Youth engagement: to involve young people in the project

Global objectives

  • Carbon reduction
  • Refertilisation of desert areas
  • Fuel production

Participants

Students of St Michael’s Specialist College under the supervision of Rothamsted Research in Harpenden and funded by Nuffield Science bursaries. St Michael’s participation in the project is part of the extended schools programme.

    Dear Sirs,

    I am writing to you to ask for further information about this project. I am also trying to establish contact to see if any further partners are currenlty being taken on at this stage. As we are a Hydroponics company with a very well rounded time of staff whom maybe able to assit with this work ?

    If you could contact me to discuss this a little more, I would be most gratefully.
